A pre-order is a game that is not released yet. Its page shows the release date and the days remaining, and the key is sent on release.
A pre-order is a game you buy before it is released. The page marks it clearly and shows the release date. The key is sent on release, not straight after payment.
01How to recognise a pre-order
- A tag on the game page reads Pre-order · out in followed by the number of days.
- The details list shows Release date, and Delivery says Pre-order delivery.
- The button reads Pre-order, and the line under the buttons says Sent on release.
- On the Games list, the Pre-orders shelf shows pre-orders only. Under All filters, Delivery has a Pre-order option.
02Steps
- 1Open the game and check the release date, Platform and Region.
- 2Select Pre-order, or Buy now.
- 3Pay at checkout as for any other order.
- 4Keep the order email. It contains the link to your order page, where the key appears when it is delivered.
03What to expect
- Until the key is delivered, the item on your order page shows Processing.
- The key is sent on release. Release dates are set by the publisher and can move: under our Terms of Service, pre-order items are subject to the publisher's release schedule.
- When the key is delivered, activate it like any other key for that platform.
04Cancelling a pre-order
Contact support as soon as you decide. Under our Refund Policy, an order that has not yet been delivered may be eligible for cancellation, and cancellation is only possible before delivery or activation. Pre-order cancellations after the publisher's cutoff date are not refundable. See Can I cancel my order?.
05If that did not work
If the release date has passed and the item still shows Processing, see I paid but have not received my order.
