A PlayStation game code is a 12-digit PlayStation Store voucher. On a PS5, open PlayStation Store, press the triangle button, select … (More) > Redeem Code and enter the code. PS4, the web store and the PlayStation App each have their own Redeem Code option. PlayStation Support states one rule you should check first: the voucher code needs to be for the same region as your account.

How to redeem a game code on a PS5

These steps follow PlayStation Support's page "How to redeem a PlayStation Store voucher code", with one check added at the start.

  1. Sign in on the console with the account that should own the game. Content can't be moved between accounts later.
  2. Go to PlayStation Store and press the triangle button to open the menu.
  3. Select … (More) > Redeem Code.
  4. Carefully enter the 12-digit code and select Redeem. The content is now applied to your account.
  5. Select Download to start downloading. You can also download later, and Download is not shown for content that needs no download.

PlayStation Support adds that on PS5 you can also redeem a voucher during checkout, by selecting Redeem Codes and Gift Cards from the payment method menu.

Other places to redeem

On a PS4

Go to PlayStation Store, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Redeem Codes. Enter the 12-digit code and select Continue, then Confirm or Yes. Select Continue > Download to start the download, or leave it for later.

In a web browser

Go to PlayStation Store on the web and select your profile at the top of the screen. Select Redeem Code from the drop-down menu, enter the 12-digit code and select Continue.

In the PlayStation App

Select the PS Store icon, then the menu icon on the right side of the screen. Select Redeem Code, enter the code and select Continue.

The rules PlayStation states

PlayStation Support lists these under "voucher restrictions".

  • 12 digits. Every PlayStation Store voucher code has 12 digits. A 10-digit code is a discount code, which is applied to a shopping cart and is not redeemed here.
  • Same region. The voucher code needs to be for the same region as your account. For physical vouchers, Sony says to look for a printed flag showing the country or region.
  • Once only. A voucher code can be used once. Redeemed vouchers appear in the transaction details in Account Management.
  • No transfers. Funds and content can't be transferred between accounts, so redeem on the correct one.
  • Subscriptions. Some subscription vouchers need a valid payment method on the account before they can be redeemed.

Account region vs code region

This is the rule to check before any purchase. Your PlayStation account has a region, and each code is made for one region; Sony requires the two to match. Before buying, compare the Region line of the product with your account's country; how to check a game key's region lock walks through it.

Game code or wallet top-up

PlayStation uses the same 12-digit format for different things. Its support page lists these voucher types:

  • Games and add-ons. After redeeming, you can download the game or add-on.
  • In-game currency, consumables and skins. No download is needed in most cases; the content becomes available once the voucher is redeemed.
  • Season passes. They give access to several sets of extra content for one game.
  • Wallet balance. A PlayStation Store gift card adds funds to your wallet.

A game code gives you one named product. A gift card gives you money to spend in the store. If you want the second, read how to redeem a PlayStation gift card, and see the cards on our PlayStation page.

If the code doesn't work or the game is missing

For content you can't find after redeeming, PlayStation Support suggests restarting the console, then signing out and back in with the account that redeemed the code.

For a code that is refused, its troubleshooting page says to check that all 12 digits were entered correctly, that the code is still valid (some have an expiry date on the voucher), and that the PlayStation status page shows no network problems. If the code was tried several times, look at your transaction history: a redeemed code is listed there. The other messages are covered in Game key not working.

PlayStation codes on KryptoMate

On a game's product page, the Platform line names the console, for example PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, and the Region line names the area the code is made for. An add-on needs the base game on the same platform. These are PlayStation products in our games catalogue today:

From the KryptoMate catalogue on 11 Oct 2026. A few PlayStation products. Prices and stock change; each product's page shows today's price and its "Region" line.

Delivery is usually instant, but it might take 0–24 hours in rare cases. A code bought for the wrong region by your own selection can't be refunded, and a redeemed code is final. An invalid or undelivered code is reviewed under the Refund Policy if you report it within 48 hours of delivery.

Bought the code with crypto?

PlayStation Store doesn't see how a code was paid for, so the steps above are the same. Game codes are under Games, and How to pay On-Chain covers the payment.
