A PlayStation gift card is redeemed in PlayStation Store under Redeem Code, in a browser, on a PS5 or PS4 console, or in PlayStation App. The rule that decides everything is region: PlayStation says the code must be for the same region as your account, and that an account's region can't be changed after it is set up. Buy the card for the country your PlayStation account was created in.

How to redeem a PlayStation gift card

These are the browser steps from PlayStation's support page, with the copy step added for a code bought online.

  1. Copy the 12-digit code from your order page with Copy.
  2. Go to PlayStation Store on playstation.com and sign in to the account that should receive the funds.
  3. Select your profile at the top of the screen.
  4. Select Redeem Code from the drop-down menu.
  5. Enter the 12-digit code and select Continue. PlayStation then applies the credit to your account.

The funds land in the wallet of the account that was signed in. PlayStation does not move funds between accounts, so check the account name before you confirm.

Redeem on a console or in the app

On a PS5 console

Open PlayStation Store and press the triangle button to reach the menu. Select … (More), then Redeem Code, enter the 12 digits and select Redeem. PlayStation's page adds that you can also redeem during checkout by choosing Redeem Codes and Gift Cards in the payment method menu.

On a PS4 console

Open PlayStation Store, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Redeem Codes. Enter the code, select Continue, then Confirm or Yes.

In PlayStation App

Select the PS Store icon, then the menu icon at the right side of the screen. Select Redeem Code, enter the code and select Continue.

Child accounts

PlayStation says wallet top-up codes have to be redeemed on the family manager's account. The family manager can then set a monthly spending limit for the child.

Which region to buy

Are PSN gift cards region locked?

Yes. PlayStation's support pages say it in two places:

  • The voucher code needs to be for the same region as your account.
  • Codes can only be redeemed in the same PlayStation Store region, and the region of an account cannot be changed, because it was selected when the account was set up.

So the question is never where you live today. It is which country your PlayStation account belongs to. A card for the United States works on a US account, a card for Germany on a German account, and so on. This is what region lock means for PlayStation.

From the KryptoMate catalogue on 11 Oct 2026. Each card's page has its "Redeemable in" line and its Terms. The catalogue has 46 more Playstation cards: see the Playstation page.

Open the card for your account's country, for example PlayStation USA, PlayStation UK or PlayStation Germany. Read the Redeemable in line, then the Terms tab. If two cards carry the same currency, the country still decides: a euro card for one country is not a card for every euro country unless its Terms say so.

Not sure which country your account has? It is the one chosen when the account was created, so confirm it with PlayStation before you order. We can't swap a card for another country after delivery.

If the code doesn't work

What PlayStation lists

PlayStation's page on voucher problems gives these checks:

  • Typing. Every PlayStation voucher code has 12 digits. A 10-digit code is a discount code and is used at purchase, not under Redeem Code.
  • Already redeemed. A code can be used once. Sign in to Account Management and open your transaction history; a redeemed voucher appears in the transaction details. Check each account used on your console.
  • Wrong account. Funds and content can't be transferred between accounts.
  • From a different country. The code only works in its own PlayStation Store region.
  • Expiry. Some codes have an expiry date listed on the voucher.

What to do on our side

Use Copy on your order page and paste the code, so all 12 digits arrive intact. If PlayStation still refuses it and your account's country matches the card, contact our support with the order number and a screenshot of the message. Keep the code out of the chat.

A code that is invalid or was not delivered is reviewed under the Refund Policy when you report it within 48 hours of delivery. A card you chose for the wrong country can't be refunded, and once a code is redeemed the sale is final. See Why can I not use my gift card in my country? for the checks support will ask for.

Bought it with crypto?

The redeem steps are the same whatever you paid with. To order a card, see How to buy a PlayStation gift card with crypto; for the payment itself, see How to pay On-Chain.
