Prize Race Terms
The terms governing all KryptoMate Prize Race campaigns. By placing an order during an active race period, you accept these terms.
1What Is a Prize Race?
A Prize Race is a time-bounded spending competition where KryptoMate users automatically compete based on qualifying orders placed during the race window. The top spender (or top N spenders, per the campaign rules) wins the published prize. Each campaign has its own start date, end date, eligibility requirements, qualifying-order rules, and prize. The campaign-specific rules are published on the campaign page and override these general terms where they conflict.
2Eligibility
3How Spending Is Tracked
- Tracking begins the moment a campaign goes live. Orders completed before the campaign started, or after it ends (subject to the grace period below), do not count, even if they fall inside the eligibility rules.
- An order is added to your race total when it transitions to a COMPLETED status. Orders that are still pending, in payment review, or awaiting delivery are not counted.
- What counts as qualifying spend — Only genuine purchases of products and services count toward your race total. Wallet top-ups and Mate Balance Card purchases do not count — loading funds into your balance is not spending, and counting it would double-count the same money once you actually spend that balance on a product. The real purchase you make with your wallet balance is what counts.
- Only orders meeting the campaign's per-order minimum (e.g. $10) count.
- Tracking is automatic and immediate — no separate signup or registration is required.
- The leaderboard is refreshed periodically (typically every 60 seconds) and may briefly trail real-time activity.
4Refunds and Clawbacks
- If an order that contributed to your race total is later refunded, the corresponding spend is automatically deducted from your race total via a clawback. This may cause your rank to drop.
- Partial refunds reduce your race total by the refunded amount.
- Orders refunded after the campaign's end and grace period may still be clawed back at our discretion.
5Anti-Fraud Rules
6Leaderboard Privacy
- The leaderboard is public and visible to anyone, including non-account-holders.
- To balance social engagement with privacy, each racer is shown as “First name · abc***” — their first name followed by the first three characters of their email's local-part (the portion before @), with the remainder masked.
- Your full email, last name, and account details are never shown to other racers.
- By participating, you consent to your masked display name and score being visible to the public for the duration of the race and a reasonable post-race period for transparency.
- Where a campaign opts out of the masked-name leaderboard, the campaign page will say so explicitly.
7Winner Selection
- The winner is determined by ranked spending on the campaign's chosen metric (typically total spend) at the end of the race plus a grace period (typically 48 hours) to allow in-flight orders to deliver.
- Ties are broken in favour of whichever qualifying order was placed earliest.
- We reserve the right to manually review any winner before prize delivery for fraud or eligibility compliance.
8Prize Delivery
- The published prize is the only entitlement. There is no cash equivalent unless the campaign page expressly allows it.
- Physical prizes are shipped to the address you provide upon claim. You are responsible for keeping the shipping address current and accurate. Failure to claim within 30 days of being notified may result in forfeiture.
- We are not liable for prizes lost, damaged, or seized in transit.
- If the published prize becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute a prize of equivalent retail value.
9Taxes
You are solely responsible for any income, sales, customs, import, or other taxes that may arise from receiving a prize in your jurisdiction. We may withhold or report prize values where required by applicable law, and we may require you to complete tax-reporting paperwork before delivery.
10Disqualification
We reserve the right to disqualify any participant, before or after the race ends, for any of the following:
- Violation of these terms or the KryptoMate Terms of Service.
- Fraudulent activity, including chargebacks, refund-cycling, multi-accounting, or use of stolen payment methods.
- Failure to meet eligibility (e.g. account age, country restriction).
- Failure to claim the prize within the published claim window.
- Misrepresentation of identity, address, or other claim information.
Disqualification may result in the prize being awarded to the next eligible participant in rank.
11Modification, Suspension, and Cancellation
We may modify, suspend, or cancel any Prize Race at any time, including changing the prize, eligibility, end date, or anti-fraud rules. Where reasonable, we will give in-app notice before any material change. If a race is cancelled mid-way, no prize is awarded; we may, at our discretion, offer make-good awards to leaders.
12No Purchase Necessary Disclaimer
Where applicable law requires it (e.g. for sweepstakes/lottery compliance), a no-purchase-necessary alternative entry method will be published on the campaign page. Where the page does not publish one, the campaign is offered solely in jurisdictions where its structure is legally permitted, and is void where prohibited.
13Disputes
If you believe you were wrongly excluded or that your race total is inaccurate, please contact our support team within 30 days of the campaign's end. Disputes are governed by the dispute-resolution section of the KryptoMate Terms of Service.
