How do I redeem an Apple gift card?

Redeem the code in the App Store under Redeem Code, on an Apple Account whose country or region matches the card. The value is added to your Apple Account balance.

01Before you start

• Check the country or region of your Apple Account. It must be the card's country, shown on the card's product page as Redeemable in followed by the country.
• Open your order page and copy the code with Copy. If the order shows Claim your gift card, claim it first. See What is a claim link and how do I use it?.

02On iPhone or iPad

1. 1Open the App Store.
2. 2Tap your photo, your initials, or the account button. Sign in to your Apple Account if you are asked to.
3. 3Tap Redeem Code.
4. 4Tap Enter Code Manually and paste the code.
5. 5Tap Redeem.

03On a Mac

1. 1Open the App Store.
2. 2Click your name in the sidebar, or click Sign In and sign in to your Apple Account.
3. 3Click Redeem Code.
4. 4Click Enter Code Manually, paste the code and follow the instructions on screen.

04On a Windows PC

1. 1Open the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app.
2. 2Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Redeem. Sign in to your Apple Account if you are asked to.
3. 3Follow the instructions on screen, then click Redeem.

05If that did not work

• Apple says the card is for another country or store: the card and your Apple Account are set to different countries. See Why can I not use my gift card in my country?.
• Invalid code or invalid character: copy the code again with Copy on your order page instead of typing it. See My gift card code is not working.
• Already redeemed: check your Apple Account balance first. See My gift card code says it was already redeemed.
• Apple asks for more details: follow Apple's request or contact Apple Support, and keep a screenshot of their answer.
