Things to know before you buy

Your payments profile country is the one that counts

Google Play ties your Play balance to one country: the country of your Google payments profile. A Google Play card works only on an account set to the card's country, and Google can also check where you are when you redeem. If you're travelling outside the card's country, you may need to wait until you're back.

Some things to keep in mind:

• Changing country is limited. Google lets you change your Play country about once a year, and a balance from the old country stays behind. Don't switch just to use one card.
• Buying for someone else? Ask which country their Play account uses. A card for a different country can't be converted.

What your Play balance pays for

In most countries the balance pays for apps, games, in-app purchases and subscriptions bought through Google Play, and for books and films where Google sells them. How to redeem

Delivery and refunds
