On the TON network, a memo is called a comment: a short text sent with a transfer so the receiver can tell whose payment it is. On KryptoMate you can pay with the TON coin through the TON Connect and Tonkeeper tiles, where your wallet opens a ready-made request, or send TON or USDT on TON yourself through On-Chain. The rule for the memo is simple: if the payment screen shows a Memo / Tag block, include it exactly; if it shows none, the address is enough.
Three ways to pay on TON
| TON Connect | Tonkeeper | On-Chain | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You pay in | TON | TON | TON or USDT on TON |
| How | Approve in your wallet | Scan or open, approve | Copy address, send |
| Time to pay | 15 minutes | 15 minutes | 30 minutes |
USDT on TON is only available through On-Chain; the two wallet tiles pay in the TON coin. The methods offered for your order are the ones shown at checkout.
A note on names: ton.org names the network's coin Gram; it was long called Toncoin. Our coin list shows it under the ticker TON, and your wallet may show either name.
How to pay with TON or USDT on TON through On-Chain
- Go to checkout with your cart. A guest enters only an email address.
- On the payment step, under On-Chain, choose On-Chain · 200+ coins and select Pay.
- Under Choose a coin and network, search "TON". Pick TON to pay in the coin, or USDT with the network TON to pay in the stablecoin. A coin that always needs a memo carries a Memo tag in this list.
- Select Continue to payment and read the whole screen: Network, Address, the amount under Send exactly, and whether a Memo / Tag block marked Required appears.
- In your wallet or exchange, choose the same coin on the TON network and paste the address. A TON address has 48 characters and usually starts with EQ or UQ.
- If a memo is shown, paste it into the field your wallet calls comment, memo or tag. If none is shown, leave that field empty.
- Send at least the exact amount in one transfer before the 30-minute countdown ends, then select I've sent the payment.

Paying with the TON Connect or Tonkeeper tile
- TON Connect: choose the tile and select Pay. Connect your TON wallet when asked. The wallet shows the amount and the recipient; approve it there.
- Tonkeeper: choose the tile and select Pay. Scan the QR code with Tonkeeper, or tap the open button on your phone, then approve.
The request your wallet opens is built for your order and already carries the order's reference. Approve it exactly as the wallet shows it, and don't change the amount or the text. A TON transfer typed in by hand, without that request, may not be matched to your order automatically. You have 15 minutes with these tiles, so start when your wallet is unlocked and funded.
Why TON uses comments at all
TON's documentation describes two ways a service can receive payments. In the first, one shared address receives everyone's transfers, and each sender adds an identifier as the comment; the service reads the comment to know which invoice was paid. The documentation names the weak point: a deposit without the correct identifier may be lost or misdirected. In the second, every payer gets a separate address, and no comment is needed.
This is why exchanges often show a memo or comment with their TON deposit address. On our checkout, read the payment screen each time. In today's coin list, neither TON nor USDT on TON carries the Memo tag, so you will normally see an address alone. When a payment does need one, the screen shows the Memo / Tag block with a Copy button, and the transfer must carry it. Other coins that always need one are listed in memo, destination tag and comment.
USDT on the TON network: fees
USDT on TON is a jetton, TON's kind of token, and it is a different token from USDT on Tron or BNB Smart Chain. Sending a jetton from your own wallet costs a network fee paid in the TON coin, so the wallet needs a little TON next to the USDT. From an exchange you need no TON: the exchange charges its withdrawal fee and shows it before you confirm. Figures vary, so we don't quote them. The On-Chain method itself adds no payment fee; network and withdrawal fees are yours, so send enough for the exact amount to arrive. Other USDT networks are in USDT networks compared.
Left the memo out, or sent on the wrong network?
If a memo was shown and your transfer went without it, the payment can't be matched to your order automatically. Don't send a second payment. Contact support through the support widget or at [email protected] with your order number and the transaction hash (TXID). We review every case, but we can't promise that the funds can be recovered.
USDT sent on another network than TON doesn't arrive as payment for the order either. All cases are in what happens after a wrong payment.
Frequently asked questions
Only when the payment screen shows one. With TON Connect and Tonkeeper, your wallet receives a complete request and you just approve it. With On-Chain, TON and USDT on TON aren't tagged Memo in today's coin list; if a Memo / Tag block appears, it is required.
