USDT networks compared: which one to pay with, and what it costs

Coins & payments6 min readLast checked 10 Oct 2026

USDT is the same dollar stablecoin on every network, but each network has its own fees, speed and address format. When you pay On-Chain on KryptoMate, you can send USDT on networks such as Tron (TRC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum and TON; the method itself adds no payment fee. The network fee and any withdrawal fee from your wallet or exchange are yours, so pick a listed network your wallet supports at a fee you're happy with, and make sure it matches the payment screen.

How to pay with USDT on the network you choose

  1. Add your gift card, game, eSIM, top-up or travel booking to the cart and go to checkout. Guests only need an email address.
  2. On the payment step, under On-Chain, choose On-Chain · 200+ coins and select Pay.
  3. Under Choose a coin and network, search for USDT and pick the network, for example Tron (TRC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) or Solana.
  4. Before you continue, open your wallet or exchange and check that it can send USDT on that same network, and what it charges to do so.
  5. Select Continue to payment. Copy the address and the amount under Send exactly, or scan the QR code. If a memo or tag is shown (as on TON), add it.
  6. In your wallet or exchange, choose the same network, paste the address, and send at least the exact amount in one transfer. If your exchange takes its fee out of the amount, raise the amount so the full figure arrives.
  7. Send before the 30-minute countdown ends, then select I've sent the payment. The screen shows Payment detected · confirming and moves on by itself when the payment is confirmed.

Things to know before you pay

Which USDT networks you can pay with

The On-Chain list offers USDT on Tron (TRC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum and TON, and on a few more networks such as Avalanche C-Chain. USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) isn't in the list today; USDC is offered on Ethereum. The networks offered for your order are always the ones listed at checkout.

USDT on one network is a separate token from USDT on another, even though they're worth the same.

The networks side by side

  • Tron (TRC-20): widely supported by exchanges for USDT withdrawals. From your own wallet, a transfer uses Tron's bandwidth and energy, which are paid with staked or burned TRX, so keep some TRX next to your USDT.
  • BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20): supported by most large exchanges. From your own wallet, the network fee is paid in BNB.
  • Solana: from your own wallet, the network fee is paid in SOL, and the address you send to is a Solana address.
  • Polygon and Arbitrum: from your own wallet, the fee is paid in the network's own gas coin (POL on Polygon, ETH on Arbitrum).
  • TON: the payment screen may show a memo (comment) together with the address. Send both, or the payment can't be matched to your order.

Who charges what

  • KryptoMate On-Chain: the method adds no payment fee; the order summary shows $0.00 for it. Other payment methods can add a fee; any fee is shown in the order summary before you pay.
  • The network: every transfer pays a network fee to the blockchain. This isn't a KryptoMate fee.
  • Your exchange: if you withdraw from an exchange, it charges a withdrawal fee. This is often a flat amount per network, set by the exchange, and it can differ a lot between networks.

Network and withdrawal fees aren't included in our prices, so add them on top. The full breakdown is in payment fees and exchange rates.

Why the network has to match

The payment screen says it plainly: send only that coin on that network, because other coins or networks can't be recovered. If USDT is sent on a network the payment wasn't created for, it doesn't arrive as a payment for your order. See what happens if you send the wrong amount, coin or network.

Typical costs

Network fees vary with network load and your exchange, so we don't quote figures. The lowest-cost route for you is usually the network where your exchange's withdrawal fee is lowest, or where you already hold USDT and the gas coin. Compare before you send.

How to pick

  • Paying from an exchange: compare the withdrawal fee your exchange shows for each USDT network, and pick one that's also listed at checkout.
  • Paying from your own wallet: pick a listed network where you already hold USDT and enough of its gas coin.
  • Your USDT is on Ethereum: it isn't in the On-Chain list today. Move it to a listed network first, or pay through an exchange tile instead.
  • Holding USDT on an exchange that offers a pay option: Binance Pay, Bybit Pay and similar exchange tiles let you pay without picking a network or copying an address. See how to pay with Binance Pay.

Frequently asked questions

It's the same stablecoin, worth about one US dollar, but it lives on a different blockchain. USDT on Tron (TRC-20) and USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) are separate tokens that can't be sent to each other's addresses. Always send on the network shown on the KryptoMate payment screen.
